Version 2.6 / Effective 2026-09-09 JST

Fixed version / Record copy

A2Z Terms of Service

Version: 2.6

Effective date: 9 September 2026 (Japan Standard Time)

1. Scope

  1. These Terms govern use of the online game A2Z and its websites, applications, accounts, purchases, and support functions (together, the Service) provided by gathron, a sole proprietor established in Japan (the Operator).
  2. You may use an A2Z account only after agreeing to these Terms, the Privacy Policy, the Code of Conduct, and any additional terms presented in the Service.
  3. If additional terms conflict with these Terms, the additional terms control only to the extent expressly stated and permitted by applicable law.

2. Eligibility and Minors

  1. A2Z is a general-audience online game intended for users aged 13 or older and is not directed to children under 13. Children under 13 may not create an online account, enter online combat, or make purchases.
  2. If the law or platform rules in your place of residence require a higher age or verified parental authorization, you may not use online combat or purchases until that requirement is met. The Operator may request verification or restrict access if it becomes aware that a requirement has not been met.
  3. A minor must obtain the authorization of a parent or legal guardian where required. In-game limits and any parental controls provided by the device, payment provider, or store also apply to a minor’s purchases.
  4. You must provide an accurate country or region of residence and birth month and year. You may not provide false information to evade age requirements or purchase limits.

3. Accounts

  1. An A2Z account is required for WORLD FRONT participation, queues, parties, rewards, purchases, and purchase restoration.
  2. You manage your account through a verified email address or another authentication method made available by the Operator. A2Z does not store an A2Z-specific fixed password.
  3. You are responsible for protecting authentication codes, devices, and login sessions. If you suspect unauthorized use, contact info@a2z.gathron.com promptly. The Operator and its support personnel will never ask you to disclose a one-time code by email, chat, or telephone.
  4. You may sign in on more than one device, but only one device may control a combat session at a time. When combat control is transferred, the previous device loses control.
  5. Your CALLSIGN is a public in-game identifier. It may not contain personal information, infringe third-party rights, impersonate the Operator or a system message, or contain prohibited content.
  6. Creating more than one account is not automatically prohibited. You may not use multiple accounts to repeatedly claim rewards, evade enforcement, collude across factions, improperly restore purchases, or otherwise undermine fair play.

4. The Service

  1. A2Z is a free-to-play online team game. The authoritative state of WORLD FRONT, ROOMs, SORTIEs, combat, rewards, queues, and ships is determined by the Operator’s servers.

  2. A ship may be transferred to NPC control, and a player may be moved to observation or a queue, following a disconnection, excessive delay, device transfer, scheduled rotation, or another condition described in the Service.

  3. The Operator may reasonably change game rules, functions, presentation, or supported environments for balance, fairness, security, or legal compliance. Material changes affecting user rights or purchased content will be communicated by reasonable means in advance where practicable.

  4. The Service is not guaranteed to be continuously available. It may be suspended for maintenance, incidents, carrier or infrastructure failures, security response, natural disasters, or other unavoidable reasons.

  5. During a period the Operator identifies as a free test, users may use the features identified as available in that test without a service fee. Users remain responsible for connectivity, devices, and other costs of their own environment. Participation remains subject to the eligibility, account, and Code of Conduct requirements in these Terms.

  6. The free test evaluates features, presentation, balance, supported environments, and related functionality. Bugs, interruptions, or synchronization delays may occur. The Operator will respond in accordance with Sections 4 and 12. The fact that use is free or part of a test does not provide a blanket exclusion or restriction of the Operator’s liability or users’ statutory rights.

  7. Participation in the free test does not constitute an order or reservation for paid content or create a future payment obligation. The arrival of 1 October 2026 alone will neither start sales nor automatically move users into paid participation.

  8. This section does not authorize blanket deletion of accounts or game data merely because use is part of a test. Data handling remains subject to these Terms and the Privacy Policy.

5. Licence and Intellectual Property

  1. Subject to these Terms, the Operator grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable licence to use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes.
  2. Rights in the software, visual assets, audio, text, expression of game rules, logos, trademarks, and other Service content belong to the Operator or the relevant rights holder.
  3. Except where applicable law permits otherwise, you may not copy, modify, redistribute, sell, reverse engineer, or unlawfully analyse the Service.
  4. The current Service has no free-text in-game chat or in-game voice chat. CALLSIGNs, structured HELP messages, reports, and other user-submitted information are processed as necessary to provide and protect the Service and handle disputes.

6. Prohibited Conduct

You must not:

  1. use cheats, bots, macros, automation, modified clients, packet manipulation, unauthorized access, or exploit vulnerabilities;
  2. bypass authoritative server state or improperly alter combat, rewards, queues, purchases, refunds, or account status;
  3. deliberately disrupt teammates, remain intentionally inactive, collude, manipulate outcomes, abuse HELP, or repeatedly assist the opposing faction unfairly;
  4. misuse another person’s account, authentication credentials, payment information, or purchase rights;
  5. use another account or method to evade enforcement, purchase limits, age rules, regional restrictions, or technical controls;
  6. engage in unlawful conduct, threats, harassment, discrimination, impersonation, disclosure of personal information, or infringement of third-party rights;
  7. impose excessive load on, damage, or interfere with the Service, its networks, or another person’s device;
  8. commercially exploit, sell for cash, resell, lend, or transfer the Service or purchased content without permission; or
  9. otherwise violate the Code of Conduct or materially threaten the safe and fair operation of the Service on reasonable grounds.

7. Reports, Restrictions, and Appeals

  1. Users may report another user using the structured report reasons provided in the Service. A single report does not automatically result in suspension; the Operator reviews server logs, ROOM context, and other relevant information.
  2. Depending on the violation, the Operator may issue a warning or restrict HELP, queues, combat, purchases, or the account for a fixed period or permanently. Steps may be skipped for serious cheating, threats, or repeated violations.
  3. Except where doing so would compromise an urgent security response or an investigation, the Operator will display the reason, duration, and appeal method for a restriction or suspension.
  4. You may appeal within 30 days after notice. The Operator aims to provide an initial response within seven business days and will communicate the reason and whether the decision is upheld or changed.

8. Purchases

Before sales begin, purchasing paid products and displaying, applying, granting, or restoring product cosmetics are unavailable in the environment offered to general users. This does not disable ordinary free-game presentation, such as the basic ship. Products or test entitlements shown in the Operator’s isolated testing environment do not signify a public sales launch or the acquisition of a purchase entitlement in the production environment.

  1. If sales begin in the future, products will generally be permanent cosmetic entitlements and non-renewing WORLD FRONT PASSes. The Service will not sell weapon output, Life, movement speed, combat tickets, queue priority, or another combat advantage. Whether sales will begin, the products and regions covered, and the start time will be announced separately. Each product may be sold only after the required preparations and checks have been completed. Accepting these Terms alone does not constitute a purchase.
  2. The current Service has no paid virtual currency, stored-value balance, gacha, loot boxes, or auto-renewing subscription.
  3. Before purchase, the Service displays the product, content, quantity, duration or permanent-cosmetic status, tax-inclusive price where required, payment method, delivery timing, applicable cancellation or refund conditions, and any USD conversion notice. The user must expressly request immediate delivery and acknowledge any loss of a statutory withdrawal or cancellation right once delivery begins, without limiting mandatory consumer rights. The A2Z purchase confirmation and Stripe’s final checkout state the conditions for that purchase.
  4. Each browser purchase requires a one-use code sent to the registered email address. The user must complete both the purchase authorization and the express confirmation above before continuing to Stripe Checkout.
  5. Browser purchases use one-time Stripe Checkout payments. If the Service is later offered through the App Store or Google Play, the applicable store purchase process and terms also apply.
  6. Redirecting to a payment-complete page does not itself grant an item. The Operator grants the entitlement only after confirming payment through a signed notification or server-side query. Each transaction may be granted only once.
  7. Refunds, cancellations, and chargebacks are handled under the rules of the purchase provider, applicable law, and the conditions shown at purchase. Once a refund is confirmed, the corresponding paid cosmetic or pass entitlement may be revoked. Free rewards and ordinary free play remain available.
  8. Account deletion does not automatically produce a refund. Transfers from an incorrectly used account are generally unavailable and may be reviewed only if the content is unused and purchaser ownership can be verified.
  9. A permanent cosmetic means an entitlement that may be used while the account exists, the Service is operating, and use remains technically and legally possible. It does not mean that the item will remain usable after the Service ends.
  10. Disclosures required for mail-order sales to users in Japan, including seller details, payment and delivery timing, and cancellation conditions, will appear in a separate disclosure under Japan’s Act on Specified Commercial Transactions.

9. Account Deletion

  1. You may request account deletion from Account Settings. A 30-day cancellation period begins after the request. Personal and game data are deleted after that period.
  2. Final deletion expires unused tickets, season progress, gameplay records, and other game data. Purchase and refund records that must be retained for legal, accounting, or fraud-prevention purposes are separated from the game profile.
  3. A verified permanent cosmetic purchase may be restored once to one new account after final deletion. Restoration is not guaranteed in every case.

10. Changes to the Policies

  1. The Operator may change these Terms when reasonably necessary because of changes in law, the Service, safety, or security.
  2. For a material change, the Operator will communicate the effective date and substance in advance through the Service, the official website, or registered email, and will request express acceptance of each updated document before the next SORTIE or purchase.
  3. Where immediate restriction is required by law or to address a serious security risk, access may be restricted without advance notice or before an active SORTIE ends.

11. End of Service

  1. The Operator may discontinue all or part of the Service for reasonable business, technical, or legal reasons.
  2. Unless advance notice is impossible, the Operator intends to announce a permanent shutdown at least 90 days in advance through the Service, official website, and registered email.
  3. New permanent-cosmetic sales will stop when shutdown is announced. New WORLD FRONT PASS sales will stop if the full pass period cannot be provided before shutdown. Any unprovided paid portion will be handled under the purchase provider’s rules and applicable law.
  4. Online-only permanent cosmetics and passes become unusable after shutdown. Mere length of prior use does not create an automatic refund unless applicable law or the purchase provider requires one.

12. Warranties, Liability, and Statutory Rights

  1. The Operator will use reasonable care in providing the Service. However, the Operator does not warrant that the Service will be entirely free from interruptions, delays, defects, or data synchronization delays, or that it will operate on every device or network environment. This paragraph does not waive any expressly agreed service commitment or obligation imposed by applicable law.
  2. For loss arising from a user’s device, network environment, third-party service, or similar cause, the Operator will not be liable where no cause is attributable to the Operator and applicable law does not otherwise impose liability on the Operator. The involvement of such a cause does not, by itself, exclude the Operator’s own liability.
  3. The limitations in the following paragraph do not apply to the Operator’s intentional misconduct or gross negligence, death or personal injury, or any other liability that applicable law prohibits excluding or limiting.
  4. Only where the Operator is liable to a user for ordinary negligence, recoverable damages are limited to ordinary and direct loss proximately caused by that negligence, excluding indirect loss, special loss, and loss of profits. For each user and each event giving rise to the loss, the monetary cap is the greater of JPY 10,000 and the total amount that user paid to A2Z during the 12 months preceding that event. Multiple claims for damages arising from the same event are aggregated for the purpose of this cap. For users who use the Service for free, the cap is JPY 10,000. This amount is not an automatic compensation payment; it is a limit on damages for which the Operator is actually liable.
  5. This section does not exclude consumers’ rights to cancellation, termination, refunds, or other rights that cannot be waived or restricted under applicable law. The damages cap above does not cap any repayment of charges required by law. Any greater protection afforded by mandatory law applicable to the user takes precedence over this section.

13. Contact

  • Operator: gathron (sole proprietor)
  • Proprietor or responsible person: Aki Sudo
  • Business address: info@a2z.gathron.com
  • Support: info@a2z.gathron.com
  • Telephone number or method for disclosure on request: The telephone number will be disclosed without delay upon a valid request sent to the support contact.

14. Governing Law and Disputes

  1. These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan. This choice does not deprive a consumer of mandatory protections available under the law of the consumer’s country or region of residence.
  2. The user and the Operator will first attempt to resolve a dispute in good faith.
  3. A dispute may be brought before a court having jurisdiction under applicable law. These Terms do not designate an exclusive court that would prevent a consumer from using a forum available under mandatory law.
  4. The English and Japanese versions are intended to have the same meaning. The Japanese version applies to Japan-directed use and purchases, and the English version applies elsewhere, but neither version overrides mandatory law or a consumer protection that applies to the user.

Supplement: commencement of this revision

  1. This revision takes effect at 9 September 2026 (Japan Standard Time). The changes, text, version, and effective time will be announced in advance.
  2. New registrants will be shown this revision and the corresponding documents and asked for express acceptance before completing registration. Existing users will be shown the changes and asked for express acceptance before their next SORTIE entry at or after the effective time. An active SORTIE will not be abruptly terminated solely because acceptance is incomplete. The emergency measures in Section 10.3 remain separate.
  3. Users who have not completed express acceptance cannot enter a new SORTIE, but routes for account management with identity verification, data-export and deletion requests, and support will remain available. Any separate safety or legal restriction will be treated distinctly, together with its reason.
  4. Acceptance will be recorded as an express action corresponding to the version and language presented. Holding an existing account, reloading a page, switching the displayed language, or failing to respond does not alone constitute acceptance of the revision. This revision does not rewrite previous acceptance records or apply retroactively to conduct preceding the revision.
